Bingo - a new feature to group same ideas (sticky notes/cards) on the canvasOpen

Hi When we share or brainstorm ideas it is very often that participants have the same ideas, which is very interesting but there is no easy way to group the same sticky notes to keep the overview.We say “Bingo” when an idea we also have already have been presented by another participant. In that way we dont have to use more time on that idea, but show that we also have that idea.We would love to see a feature where we could “choose” bingo and place an idea (sticky note) on top of another idea (sticky note) and then is groups the same ideas and maybe show a count… how many have had the this same idea?What do you think of that?

On the toolbar, change square icon of "shapes" so it's not confused with stickies iconOpen

With new users joining our boards in workshops or trainings, participants are often confused by the square and the stickies icon on the toolbar, so they often add shapes to the boards in stead of stickies. Maybe the square can be a triangle or a circle to better distinguish between these two functions?

Hello, for me as a user of the consultant plan it is important that every user I invite to my board this user gets fast instant simple userfriedly and safe access to my board as user friendly as possible. So if I invite someone to my board the access should be Sended as Mail Link inside Password protected No registration at miro - same like I do if I invite someone to zoom meetings. Please can you make this possible? It would help a lot. Michael

Components / Symbols that have a master styleOpen

I’d love for Miro to have some sort of functionality similar to what a bunch of interface design tools currently already use; components with state / styles. Quite often I run into working on something with a client, and after a few iterations and multiple artboards we find out we want to change a single thing thats been copied across the file multiple times. For example; the color of a flowchart element, an image we re-use, text color etc. If this happens somewhere far along in the process it means we have to change every instance by hand, which can be quite time consuming. A basic version of creating a ‘master style’ would be amazing and really helpful. Copy the element containing the master style to create child elements that, when certain properties of the master change, reflect these changes too. This can, in my opinion, be tied to a single file and there’s no need for a very extensive system that’s applicable to many different files etc.

Scrolling Kanban appOpen

There seems to be no way to constrain the vertical size of the Kanban app. It grows vertically depending on the maximum number of cards in any column. Resizing merely resizes the width and height of the app. I’d like to see the ability to size width and height independently with scrollbars appearing if the vertical space is too limited to display all the cards. Also, “archiving” cards in the Done column might be a useful addition; “done” items after awhile are not useful to display all the time.

Temporarily disable all editing of boardOpen

Quite often board participants are unable to stop themselves from roaming the board and making changes (some intentional, others not) at times when they should be more focused on the discussions that are taking place.As the board owner, I would like to have an the option to quickly disable/enable all editing of the board - they participants could no longer create or modify any objects, but could still navigate the board.

Turn Sticky Notes 45 degrees 'Toggle'Open

We just completed an “Event Storming” workshop using Miro to facilitate the activity remotely. One of the practices is to turn sticky notes 45 degrees to indicate something is wrong without knowing exactly what is wrong. This serves as identification of what might need refinement, more discussion. This is not full on ‘rotate’ - in my mind it’s a quick tap to toggle back and forth between turned and square. Colors are used for other purposes, emojis are a bit small - maybe there’s another existing feature that would work well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event_storming

Currently I have to layer the frames which looks messy and makes the frame unreadable.I have various use journeys and a table of insights. Non-owner team members (such as students) cannot be prevented from creating projects and boards themselves within their team (class). This is a very common scenario.

Filter Boards by "No Project" or "Unassigned"Open

It’s great to group boards by project, but not everything makes sense to put in a project, and in the “All Boards” view, those few standalone boards get swamped by the zillions of boards that ARE project-related. (My workaround right now is to create a project just titled “no project” but it seems like something is always slipping through the cracks and it’s hard to find them.) There’s already a filter feature for boards, but only by ownership (owned by me vs. others). Would be great to be able to filter by “no project.” There’s a somewhat related request to be able to “tag” boards, and if tagging was implemented, I would just request that a “no tag” filter be available.

being able to have several levels of complexity in the UI could help collaborators to a workshop in Miro in adopting the workflow they are new to. Even if Miro is very simple and easy to learn, it keeps on being a challenge to collaborate with some people.Basic level for users new to Miro and with very limited creation options, no unlocking possibility, no sharing and so on.Intermediate level for creative collaborationExpert level for setting up the boards, templates, user management, presentation, …Features and rights to be evaluated of course based on very different use cases/personas. Glad to help here since I have 6y experience in using Miro in profit, non-profit, governmental and education context with all kinds of users (from tech averse people to early adopters and digital natives)

Importing sketches from an external sourceOpen

As an industrial designer sketching is my second nature. Using this as a way to communicate thoughts, ideas, concepts and models is completely integrated in my workflow. Since 2014 Miro has helped me a lot to collaborate with clients and freelancers, but sketching directly in the Miro environment is too limited for me. When you work in the Apple ecosystem, you have the possibility to use universal clipboard to transfer elements from an IPad to a MacBook and back. So I sketch with the pencil on my IPad pro, cut and paste the drawing with transparant background directly into my Miro board. I don’t have to change windows or desktops. I don’t have to save and import stuff or go to a directory, …So if using extra devices with a ubiquitous UX could be integrated into the way you can work with Miro, this could really give a boost to efficiency.

I hope that title doesn’t turn people away because it sounds too complicated…Basically, when I drop a .pdf in Miro to be annotated, for me to easily export the .pdf and keep the annotations, I have to use a frame. It would be a huge time-saver if Miro could (somehow) name the frame after the file it is surrounding...It could do it by default instead of naming it “new frame.”

Better Support for Real-Time Text/Note-TakingOpen

I love using Miro for collaboration, but one thing that is not so easy to do is collaborative note-taking, similar to how Google Docs works.For example, I am working with my team, and I’d like to take notes and have others see what I’m typing as I enter the text. Miro does not seem to support this now. For example, if I am editing a Text Field, others cannot see what I am typing as I enter the text. And actually, they cannot see what I’ve entered until I select somewhere else on the Miro Board, releasing my focus on the Text Field that I was in. Further, only one person can edit a Text Field at a time.I tried using a Google Docs add-in, but this didn’t really address the fundamental issue of collaborative note-taking within a Miro board. What we really need is an enhanced Text Entry Field where at a minimum, collaborators can at least view real-time what others are type. Ideally, multiple people could edit the same text field at the same time.Additional features would be to allow the user fix the size of the Text Field so that it is scrollable, to increase the number of characters allowed in a text field (it seems to be limited now, and you don’t know it until you click off of the text field), and perhaps to allow markdown in the text field. However Markdown may be difficult because it would look different in edit vs view mode.

Hello,First of all, big compliment for having created an incredible useful tool to help distributed teams work as if they were sitting in the same room. I am wondering how a manager/organiser of any kind of workshop with 10+ users can keep an overview of user’s participation and contribution, especially when sessions are being visited by 100 users.Hence, not sure if this feature exists, a manager/organiser would appreciate a dashboard displaying his teams/companies users activity/contribution/participation over time in order to gain an overview and identify key contributors. Based on this dashboard different users can be praised/rewarded/recognised individually for their effort. Bonusly is a tool that can be used internally to praise colleagues, hence an integration with it would be great! Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this idea! Have a wonderful end of the week! Indicate in the boards list which boards are shared and which are publicOpen

Hi, As I start to build more boards and I share some but not others it would be nice to be able to see in the overview which ones are shared and which aren’t and to differentiate between public sharing and just team sharing. Sometimes I might want to share a board for a specific meeting then remove the sharing when finished but if I forget I’m not sure there is any indicator on the board list that it is still shared. We tend to use Miro a lot in (design-) workshops with clients. Therefore we prepare frames within a Miro board for different sections of the workshop and use the frames overview to navigate through it.Unfortunately not all our clients are digital natives, so seeing a full board at first glance can be quite confusing at the beginning. Participants sometimes even scroll to other frames than the currently used one and get lost.A bullet prove method to make sure everyone is looking at the correct frame (other than catching them with the video chat functionality – which is not always possible unfortunately) would be to be able to hide frames (including their content) until they are used.Miro's competitor Mural has a quite easy approach to this: In the frames overview there is an eye icon next to each frames that can be tuned off (similar to the eye symbol for layers in photoshop or any other graphics tool). Frames can only be hidden/revealed by registered users (to make sure workshop participants as anonymous editors don't reveal frames by accident).I think this would be a great feature to add to Miro's frames as well. And this can't be too hard to implement. What do you guys think?

Make Element Prompt Text EditableOpen

As asked in this community post, it would be very helpful to be able to edit card (or other element) prompt text in templates created from other templates and in templates created from scratch. The prompts in created templates don’t always match what the fields are being used for by the template user. One example of this is being able to change the prompt text “New activity” or “New task” in the user story map template (below) to something different that is more aligned with how the template is being used.

Would like the ability to sort the team icons in the left sidebar on the Miro dashboard.Right now, it’s possible to sort them, but as soon as you refresh, open a new tab, or sign out and back in again, they revert to “date joined.”

Expanding cards in embedded view (not live-embed)Open

I want users to be able to click on a card in an embedded miro board and have the card expand. I do not want them to be able to edit the contents of the card like is the case with live-embed where the tools to edit are available. A side note with cards is that they do not even show up in Safari. The arrows connecting different cards are there but the cards themselves are invisible in Safari.

Single frame Video chat (webinar with board)Open

A function that allows webinars (only one video chat frame) with contributions from users on the board. In workshops with multiple guest users, I would like the video-chat function to show only the workshop leader. The guest users should be able to see and hear the workshop facilitator and edit the board, but they should not have a video chat frame. Only the workshop facilitator should be visible, so he can explain tasks to the use guest users. This way, it is like a webinar, but with contributions from users on the board. Muting and disabling video by each guest user is not enough, because that leaves their video frames visible, which is a problem for people with small screens. And a separate browser window with zoom or whereby is (too) difficult for a lot of our workshop participants.

It would be nice to delete a middle node so that it’s children are adopted by the grandparent node.
