Hi, we primarily use Miro for process improvement kaizen events.  We do a lot of process mapping and swim lane maps.  It would be nice to be able to import and export Visio since the Visio mapping tools are much more robust.  Either that, or a tool similar to the new Kaizen where you can easily add rows and columns.

Hi Gabriela,

What plan do you have? , i don't have that option on my Miro yet.

Aye, that’s import. It’s the lack of export that’s an issue for me.

Hi Gabriela,

What plan do you have? , i don't have that option on my Miro yet.

I have ”Education plan”.

There should be an export too. Really need it both ways. e use it for consultancy and we have to create assets in the format the customer needs.

This feature should be a default one, not only for certain plans, it would also allow more users to migrate to MIRO.

Echo - Definitely need to be able to export it to Visio.

Echo  this as well! Would love to export to Visio!

+1 for the Export to Visio!

Newer to using Visio for processing mapping exercises and collaboration - however, once we get the process down I need a way to export to Visio for a final version of our process diagram. Not having the ability to export to Visio creates extra work and is inefficient. Would love to get a response from Visio on the likelihood this will be addressed?

Hi,

We are new Miro users, but have already come into a situation where we need an export to Visio. We love doing workshops in Miro as it is really efficient, but in the end we have an issue with the “documentation” produced as we need to move it into the life cycle information system as a file on a format that can be edited for updates later, and PDF is not an alternative. Is there any plan/progress on this topic in the Miro product teams?

Hi @Marta Vabø and everyone else!

Thank you for taking the time to submit your thoughts on this feature. We can see how this would be helpful to you.

While this feature may not yet be available, it helps our team to hear about your various use cases. Please continue to vote and share your use cases with Visio, as we continue to review Wish List requests.

I have recently begun to deep dive into Miro as a more primary tool for process improvement and projects.  Being a long time Visio user, as I came from technology, being able to import into Miro would be a MASSIVE quality of life improvement as they both have great functionality, but one can’t really replace the other.  I do hope this becomes a standard feature!

Miro saves a huge amount of time for whiteboarding and building diagrams, but it is not a good platform for providing deliverables to clients which they then need to take ownership of and maintain.  In that scenario, we often have to rebuild diagrams in Visio.

The lack of full import / export capability from and to the Visio format is the number one reason my company won’t sign on. Other departments will not have Miro access and we need export functionality. This feature is a standard capability on the outdated LucidCharts product, but for years, we have yet to get a meaningful response from Miro on why they will not add this feature. We’ve written on Reddit, this community, surveys and direct emails. Nothing in response beyond ‘Thanks for your time’, etc.

Hi everyone,

We appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns about the lack of full import/export functionality with Visio. The team is continuously reviewing user feedback and requests to improve the platform.

Your input is valuable, and I encourage you to upvote and comment on this feature request to help it gain visibility. Thank you again for your understanding and patience as we work to enhance Miro for everyone.

I’m currently in the process of trying to get my company to switch to Miro. One of our departments used to use it but have since moved on to Figjam as they leverage Figma.

As for the other BUs in our workforce I’m aiming to get Miro rolling out but it would require the capability to export to different formats, such as visio, as Visio is still an extremely popular tool.

E.g. if we have any client diagrams that they would need released to them, they most likely WONT have Miro and we’ll have to be able to export them to Visio so they may do additional additions down the road after we’ve parted ways.

Miro does not provide a strong provisional story with providing documentation to our third parties and clients outside of PDFs and images which is just not acceptable in today’s ecosystem.

Vendor lock in is not a feature.

If Draw.io or Lucidchart can do it… so can Miro.
