Miro is a fantastic tool for photo presentations, but the .TIFF file type is not supported for some reason. It seems like a no-brainer to simply support all major file types… Why would tiff not be supported?
It would be great to be able to drag and drop all images from a folder, without having to go and manually convert hundreds of images to a different type, just because of this compatibility issue.
+7Thank you. The issue is, for a long time, TIFF was the default image format for saving images using Grab on a Mac. So, many people have thousands of TIFF images. It’s a very common format, just perhaps not best suited for online use, like you said. But it is unfortunate that many users’ images are off limits in Miro. Almost a dealbreaker… It definitely adds major friction to workflow.
This use case is yet another reason why Miro needs an offline mode, perhaps functioning better as a offline first desktop app, with online sync and an online mode. Even with a mere 20 images in JPG or PNG format, zoom is super laggy. Another dealbreaker, since Miro is ideal for certain types of presentations. Running a board on a fast computer, rather than from an internet connection, would reduce lag and load time. Zooming is already way too glitchy, even for small boards with no photos, and a fast internet connection.
For me, Miro’s primary utility lies in its zoomable canvas layout… for everyday organization, business operation, and project management. “Online collab” is merely a bonus feature, which is needed far less often than Miro for everyday personal use.
