The problem
When I create a diagram with the Miro MCP canvas tools (canvas_create_from_svg and canvas_update_from_svg), I can't set how a connector's caption is oriented. Captions default to aligned, so on angled or vertical connectors the text is rotated and hard to read.
To fix it, I currently have to open the board, select each connector one at a time and switch its caption to horizontal. A diagram with 15–20 labelled connectors takes several minutes of clicking, and I have to repeat it every time the diagram is regenerated. That removes much of the benefit of generating diagrams with an AI assistant.
The capability already exists
The REST API's connector style object already has textOrientation (horizontal | aligned, default aligned). The MCP canvas tools just don't expose it.
What I'd like
- Expose
textOrientationon connectors in the MCP canvas tools, for example as atext-orientation="horizontal"attribute, on both create and update. - Ideally, a per-call or board-level default (for example, "all captions horizontal"), so one call covers every connector.
Why it matters
Architecture and sequence diagrams such as C4 or communication diagrams rely on readable arrow labels, and horizontal captions are the norm for them. Without this setting, the last step of every generated diagram is manual cleanup.
Who benefits
Anyone generating or updating diagrams on Miro boards through the MCP server, especially teams keeping architecture diagrams in sync with code.
