Just to make the idea request official, I would also really appreciate the ability to split an arrow/connector, I keep finding I need this:

especially so that text at the base of the arrow can apply to downstream branches. The hacks/workarounds listed on the above link are okay, but something more robust would be helpful, thanks!

Wow, how is this not getting more traction ? I am sure a lot of people have to deal with superimposed connectors, all linked to the same shape. Not only you need crappy workarounds to add text on such connectors (or place the text aside… which doesn’t always fits), but you often need to properly align your connectors so they look like a single one.

In fact, the feature should be to split -OR- merge connectors. Basically, you want to anchor a connector to another one. That would be useful in many cases.

This is a must for us if we are able to move away from Visio entirely.
