Search within selection

I am organizing a large workshop including SWOT analysis on many different topics in one board. After that workshop (which is where I am now) I’m analysing and reorganizing all of these notes to find overarching topics. IThe search tools and the possibility to search and select on the whole board is great, but in my work here, it would be a fantastic help to be able to select (drag and select) an area on the board, and then limit the search to that selection. That would make it possible to look for notes talking about a specific topic within the grouping that I’m working on - even to search for that and color the notes in a specific way or tag them to get both the focussed view and an overview.

So please: make it possible to do exactly the kind of search that is now very strong, but to choose “full board” or “within selection”

Was it helpful?

I wish this functionality existed as well.

This would be sooo helpful. Sometimes I know the area I want to search in, but I have to sift through results for the entire board to find my search target.

@Lisa Pannell @Lynn Handley @AndersHJ : I just added this feature to my Super Search plugin for Miro if you want to give it a try :)

This is a must-have for analyzing open-ended feedback. There are many instances where I need this, but one use case could be if I run a feedback survey with recurring intervals, and I want to analyze the open-ended feedback for each round. Then I want to have ONE board where I have a frame for each round of the survey (say, each quarter) to be able to compare across quarters, but then it’s really annoying to have all my data from the past surveys in the same board, as it will not only search all the new data I just pasted there, but also the past data which I’ve already organized.
