Tool bar obscures object that is being edited

It would be great if the tool bar was floating and could be moved. It can be quite annoying when editing font or object color. :)

I tend to zoom in when that occurs. What did you have in mind for correcting the situation? Do you want to dock the bar? I think that having a docked bar that changes as objects are selected might be interesting...
