+1. The app is pretty much unusable for lefties. This feature is what’s preventing us from moving the team to the platform.

I’m using the IPad app, and as a lefty it is nearly impossible to write on the screen without accidentally switching tools and pressing buttons on the left toolbar/nav; making miro essentially unusable. I imagine this would be a pretty big barrier to entry and continued use for any one who writes with their left hand. I will be switching to Microsoft whiteboard for future collaborations.

Just got my Apple pen and was stoked to try it with Miro on my iPad.

Unusable as a leftie.

Constantly selecting stuff with my palm when trying to write.

An option to snap the toolbar to the right at the same place is where it is left would solve everything. Can’t believe this hasn’t been implemented yet.

Hi there!

Will this feature be considered for implementation at some point or should we not bet on it? I’m left-handed myself and compared to my laptop, using miro on my 11” iPad is really, really, really annoying due to accidentally interacting with the toolbar with my palm quite often. I’m having a hard time to believe this would require groundbreaking code changes to happen.

Yes please. I love drawing out my ideas on Miro. As a left hander on iPad, palm rejection works okay but sometimes I will randomly hit other tools.

YES PLEASE!!!! I use a tablet and pen and it would save time to have on the right!

Please, as I see it already on the wish list for lots of people (left handed) especially, it would be super great if the sidebar could be moved to the right.

I guess Miro just doesn’t care about left-handed users :(

I can reccomend to switch to FigJam or Microsoft Whiteboard. They care about us lefties. Miro apparently hasn’t been for at least 3 years...

I love Miro, but using the Apple pen in Miro when you’re left handed is really frustrating. Please make it possible to move the toolbar to another side of the window.

Just another leftie who can’t use Miro (not going to switch between tools when it could be consolidated by just using something else). Fantastic software aside from this Miro!

Another leftie whose company has gone hard into Miro but still waiting on this crucial usability feature. Seeing this need left unmet and unaddressed for four years is deeply frustrating.

This is an equity issue, can we get more than just lip service after 4 years?

It is ridiculous that they have not implemented the feature.

It would take a developer about 1 hour to create this option.

Is the entire Miro team right handed? Or if there is a left hander, have they never once used the iPad to draw?

It’s really unbelievable that such a basic feature doesn’t exist. The left handed people in our team are very frustrated. Please Miro, create this option soon!

A few things:

  • My team loves using Miro, and I want to use what they use
  • I prefer using my iPad to take notes and usually write with the Apple Pencil - I remember things much better when writing instead of typing
  • I hate taking my computer to meetings; I’d rather take my lightweight iPad and not the clunker
  • I’m left handed, and the miro App is incredibly frustrating to try to write in

Add me to the list of people who really want the ability to move the tool bar to the right so I can write.

The following idea has been merged into this idea:

All the votes have been transferred into this idea.

Ignoring left handed people, 10% of your user base, for 4 years is surprisingly negligent. If how you choose features is based on votes, then a minority of your user base who have an accessibility issue will never make it past the post to be implemented when competing against mainstream features. This is a fundamental flaw in what appears to be your methodology at Miro, given this feature has not been implemented for 4 years. 10% of your user base will continue to not be considered and addressed since there will always be 90% fewer votes for this feature.

Would love to get a paid subscription but cannot justify it without this feature. Collaborating is a very frustrating experience as I always need to navigate to the far left of the content to draw, and then pan back right to see what my collaborator is doing.

Miro seems super rad and I urgently want to go all in on it in every way possible, but it’s basically unusable for lefties. The unmovable toolbar sits right where my palm is forced to lie. I’ll be drawing something, and next thing I know the screen is covered with sticky notes and random shapes. The resulting kaleidoscopic effects can admittedly sometimes be beautiful, but I didn’t come to Miro for beauty – I came for the raw, unstoppable productivity that a whiteboard app this sick should offer.

Also, kaleidoscopes make me dizzy.

Please, if not for my productivity, then for my health – just add an option to move the toolbar to the right. Implementing this super simple request would honestly make you heroes. It’d probably also make you a lot of money, since 10% of the population could finally justify purchasing the app.

Just chiming in here. Miro with pen / touch screen is unusable for left handed users.
Skip the bells and whistles, this is a basic necessity, known for years and years.

Thanks
