Most of the time solution guys has feature lists are there in the excel sheeet which can be cumbersome to create mind mapping out of it. Can Miro import excel data and create a mind map, which can be reorganized by the user by just drag and drop? Drag and drop another add on feature.

Was it helpful?

Title

Creating mind map using excel data and can be reorganized by drag and drop

Description

Be it a sales, solution architect, product managers and UX designers who has an excel sheet of huge data. Sometime solution guy has feature lists that are there in the excel sheet, for them it is very difficult to copy paste each item and create a mind map. This is a cumbersome process, which is time taking as well.

I use Miro to…

I love Miro from the very first day when I saw the interface and used it to create Mind map and wireframes. I am an UX designer and future product manager.

I find it difficult to…

creating the branches of mindmap, it could have been easy to put all features in an excel column and miro can help to generate a mind map.

A possible solution would be…

How it might be if Miro can upload that excel sheet and create mind mapping out of it, which can be further be reorganized by the solution guy through just drag and drop. Miro has Gen AI capability, that can also be leveraged to propose an effective mind map options with very minimal efforts.

Hope above information helps.

Thanks

Swaraj

Dear All, It would be great because I have also a lot of data and would be great to have a mindmap done from the Excel sheet. Thanks, Karine

I’ll second the request. AI chat agents have made this even more important, as tools like Gemini, Perplexity, ChatGPT can all create sophisticated models that are logically structured like a graph, e.g., a knowledge graph, concept diagram, mind map, documenting nodes and edges via data in columns, outputting in txt, CSV, Excel, etc. Tools like this can develop these model from data we gather at an institution or industry level, do the analysis, and build the output model. If we could then import these into Miro and have a concept map or mind map created, this would be incredibly powerful and valuable.

Another example: I can dump data from our enterprise wide data catalogs as CSV’s, XML or JSON, and if this could be imported so we have a live mind map or concept diagram to work with in a group setting - this would be tremendous as we work through updating models, thinking of future architecture, etc.

Adding the ability to export the map back into the same kind of text file format would be the cherry on top. That would allow us to have a workflow that links our data catalog, data modelling tools, enterprise architecture tools, etc. with our visualization collaboration platform of choice (Miro). This would be a huge game changer.
