MCP: native doc tables and comments on docs not accessible

Hi Miro team,

We use the Miro MCP server with Claude to build project documents on our boards. Two things limit us at the moment:

1. Native tables in docs

  • A table I insert manually in a Miro doc (the native doc grid) is returned by the MCP as an opaque data-type="foreign" / data-widget-type="grid" stub. The agent cannot read its content or fill it.
  • Creating a table through the MCP inside a doc only works as a nested Table widget. Markdown pipe tables are rejected (“a markdown pipe table does not become a data table”).
  • We prefer native doc tables over embedded Table widgets, because they behave like a normal document table for our users.
  • Request: support reading and writing native doc tables through the MCP, for example by accepting markdown pipe tables in a doc body.

2. Comments on docs

  • Comments placed on or inside a Miro doc do not come through reliably via the MCP, so the agent cannot process feedback that colleagues leave in the document.
  • Request: make comments on docs (including comments anchored to text inside the doc) available through comment_list_comments, with the anchor or text they refer to.

Both would make it possible to work on a document together with an AI agent in Miro, instead of switching to another tool for review rounds.

Thanks!

Tim
