It would be great if you could set the colour for smaller branches of the mind map and not have them always change if you change the colour of the larger trunk.
Maybe this can be integrated with the lock function that currently exists - right now locking only prevents editing or moving the text at a node, but does not prevent smaller branches’ colours from being changed.
Sounds like a good solution to a real problem
I agree with this! Love Mind Map but I want to be able to easily customize the individual branches, not just randomize them. I want to be able to include borders around words like you can with text
Really seems like a bug fix - a mindmap that randomly changes colors / forces you to manually set color for each node is actively doing something almost no one would want.
Agreed! This is a huge problem for me. I start nodes and color-code them according to some scheme, then I want to move a node and it’s children (a hierarchy which may be very deep with many different colors) to a different parent and suddenly all that color coding goes out the window! AARRGH!!!
It still randomizing the colors. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea??? And why is this still not fixed?
Hi
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback about the Mind Map. We apologize if this has created any frustrations when working in Miro.
We will be sure to share this feedback with our team and update this thread if this feature becomes available.
In the meantime, for those coming across this idea, if you feel this would be helpful for you or your business, please be sure to vote for it and leave a comment about your use case to help our team scope this request.
Cheers.
I am curious if this has been addressed? Is there a way to keep the colors of branches from changing with the trunk. I currently have to take a screenshot of my mindmap, change the trunk color then look at the screen shot to remember what branches were what color.
Does anyone have a feeling for how responsive MIRO actually are to these suggestions? These seem like simple things, as well as integrating images to nodes which I saw suggested years ago and nothing. I feel like mind mapping in miro is being sold as one of its predominant features/uses but it’s too simplistic, try new things with it please MIRO, it wouldn’t take you long to program and test.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
We truly appreciate you taking the time to express your thoughts about the Mind Map feature. The team continuously reviews user feedback and requests to make improvements, and your input is valuable in helping us prioritize these updates.
I encourage you and others to upvote and comment on this thread to keep the conversation active. Your engagement helps ensure that the features important to our community are heard. Thank you for your patience and support!
Another feature languishing for 4 years. And this one is oh so easy to implement and it will save oh so much for the user. Software should not be directly working against the user. EVER.
I bet commenting out a single method call to the color randomizer would have fixed that 4 years ago. But clearly nobody is looking at these feature threads when deciding on the release feature set. Very often removing a failed feature will produce more value to the end users than adding a new one. Food for thought Miro.
As such I’m calling on all Miro users to demand the disclosure of each release feature backlog to crowdsource the truth prior to each release. Let us, the real users, give you a reality check. A community steering committee if you will. And, I’m positive, we can save you from adding features that nobody wants like changing mind map colors randomly.
