Allow the possibility to link comments to tasks in the Timeline / Kanban tool.

Example case

  1. Designer uploads a design proposal with drawings to a Miro board.
  2. Project leader looks through proposal and places multiple comments, linking each comment to the (existing) task. The Project leader in this case, does not need to tag the designer in the comment with a @Designer. The task is already assigned to the Designer so he/she will be notified that there are new comments in the task.
  3. Designer has been notified of the comments. He/she can now go through each comment visually on the board, and resolve each comment like normally. Additionally the Designer can also go to the Timeline / Kanban, find the task, see all the comments and its resolved status, click each individual comment that will zoom the view to that specific comment. When Designer has finished the task, the whole task can be moved to Completed.
  4. Project leader gets notified about the task status, and can now review the Designers work, point by point, comment by comment.

Flexibility

  • Normally when using comments for QA and feedback between leader and employee, one has to use @ tagging. Now a person gets sick and the whole task and its corresponding comments are moved to another worker. When comments are tagged directly to a task instead of a person, it is easy to change the “ownership” of the comments.

The Human Factor

  • When Miro boards get big, or work starts to spread out to multiple boards, it can get hard to remember where the comments QA session was places. Being able to access the comments through the Timeline / Kanban, a known entity, is very useful and saves time.

Current workaround

  • Currently one can theoretically copy link of each comment and paste it as a hyperlink to a task comment or text field. This is time consuming and also lacks the interconnection between “Comment” → “Task” → “Responsible” (employee).

I hope you find my idea useful, I know it would be for me and hopefully others.
