This is an accessibility issue. I have teammates with difficulty reading text in certain situations and a non-linear miro board during a collaboration session (a time limit) is quite hard for them. A mitigation strategy they use in other contexts is to use their cursor to help their eye tracking and speed. It is distracting to the rest of the team and embarrassing for them to have their cursor show this movement.
It is ableist to assume that everyone reads and consumes information in the same way so you can show their “presence” with no option to hide it. Period. The end.
