We used links to guide people around Miro Boards and Microsoft team channels. Wish I could make this object float or stay on your screen no matter the zoom level or area of the board.

Indeed, it would be a great idea! For instance I am creating a life cycle map which is rather large, with a range of products (represented by coloured discs) that are or are not affected by certain steps of the life cycle. It would be great to have a kind of “legend” that stays always in the same place irrespective how you move or zoom the board, so that our colleagues can follow more easily which product is affected by which step of the life cycle, without having them remembering the colour associated with each product

+1 to this.

I love the structure the Doc format brings to the canvas and use them daily.

I have been using a Doc to keep notes about information on the board. However, as my board quickly grows beyond a single viewport, I am constantly needing to navigate back to a Doc to enter notes, which takes me away from the context of what I was looking at.

I would like to have the Doc accessible at any time. After careful consideration around how several panels already open from the left or right (apps, Spaces sidebar, visual notes,  frames navigation, etc.) I have landed on the request of being able to:

  • have any format – any object, really – be pinned to its current location where it would not change in size or location as the user zooms or pans the canvas, i.e., it would be ‘floating’.

Here’s a screenshot that barely illustrates my thoughts (imagine the highlighted doc stays where it is as I pan or zoom the canvas):
