To me, this is the most glaring of the missing features on MIRO right now. This app keeps getting better and works seamlessly, but that one missing feature is really holding us back from going all-in.

Just adding to the long list above that we need this feature…
Just adding to the long list above that we need this feature…just got asked for this by an Exec, embarrassed that it didn't have it especially since i've just convinced them to invest in an enterprise licence :/
Guys, this is really disappointing. Mind maps without the ability to collapse nodes are difficult to manage.
I'm using another tool for Mind Mapping. This is frustrating.
This seems like a very basic convenience feature. I hope you can add this on time. We would like to get rid of our separate mind mapping tool.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! In fact, it’s very timely – we’re researching how we can improve mind map right now :)
This research is taking a lot!!!!! Ufff…..
Would me amazing positioning yourself as a company if this feature would be or not be available for use!
a little clarity and transparency is basic to develop a relation with your customers!
I would love a feedback from the product team!
Any idea when would the collapsible feature be available ?
Please add this feature, it is a must for mind maps...
Please add this feature, it is a must for mind maps...
It is not a must for MindMaps:
It is a standard functionality in MindMapping-tools like
fontsize changing in a Writing - Tool like MS Word is standard.
As long as it is not included you cannot call Miro a MindMapping tool …
Imagine Word without fontsize changing … Would you use it for writing …?
Michael
As the others, I really find that feature fundamental. Have you some news about the release time ? It sincerely prevents my team from going on a paid licence as we rely on huge mind-maps for work.
I hope the dev team can add it as soon as possible, it would be game changing.
Thanks in advance
After 1 year this basic feature is still missing.
Too bad!
I started a campaign on Linkedin to upvote this feature. See below. If you like/comment on it, more people will see it and we will have more chance to get this to the top of the list, and then HOPEFULLY get this delivered!

Great! Though I’m not using Miro anymore right now because of such limitations: I don’t trust to create a big Mind Map in the hope that basic features will be added...sooner or later…
Still monitoring the App anyway: Miro has lot to offer.
Please add collapsible branch. With out this it just box and arrow. For many use-case where we use Mindmap to document complex process, no branch equal almost no value.
I love Miro and will keep paying but please put this feature into development pipeline.

I’m paying and using two software because mindmap is crucial to my work (necessarily with the folded/unfolded option). If Miro add folded/unfolded option, I don’t need any other software.
I think a lot of people are skipping Miro because of the lack of this possibility.
If you have read all of my MindMap-Posts you know that I am one of the harshest critic when it comes to Miros rudimentary MindMapping functionality BUT I tell you with all of my heart:
If someone uses Miro just like me and it’s whole deepest functions:
You cannot compete it with one other App / Software / Cloud Application
No other offers so much combined in a package … with only one exception: MindMapping.
Even if you compete it with Ayoa that was iMindMap before (they try to copy miro but they do not reach the simplicity combined with it’s complexity)
Miro lies miles ahead when it comes to digital whiteboard work even the same way like
Ayoa lies miles ahed when it comes to MindMapping …
So: As long as it is this way we the users have to live with a 2-Software based solution … But I hope one day the wait is over … then we will get a combination of 2 worlds in one soulution: Miro!
Believe me … one day …
Michael
Collapsible Branchs are absolutely needed !!!
The complexity of getting all these MIRO elements to move around in a graceful way may be really inflating the scope of this feature. Imagine having entire boards stuffed into nodes that then need to collapse, and resolve display conflicts between each other.
Maybe as a start just getting a text mind-mapping element that can’t take anything but text, kind of like a sticky note, and let us collapse that - just text trees?

This could really be the first step into a right direction
Please make it a way so you can collapse the mind maps its important!
Love the product generally, used for Brainstorming during lockdowns!
But for mindmaps I have to give it up because they rapidly become massive when dealing with projects.
Collapsing Nodes is fairly standard to enable the mind to only see and follow a path it needs to.
Being able to collapse/de-collapse mind map nodes is for the make or break functionality to use Miro mind maps.
The reason is super simple.
Only by collapsing a mind map I have a control how the story I tell is unfolding, if everyone is seeing every node right from the start all the focus of my narrative is gone and attention is diluted.
You fix it - I use it, promised
Let me draw you a picture
I’ll cancel our supscription because of this feature. It’s a very common feature in all mindmaps . I dissapointed !
Just wanted to add to number of replies :)
Nothing new to say. Everything is already said: it is must for mindmapping! First functionality is branching, second is collapsing, and than all other fancy stuff… I could do with only those two.
My mindmap is becoming more and more useless as it is growing.
Hope to see it soon.
Otherwise great app!
