The recent update to the Free plan no longer lets users add more than 3 boards. Previously, the 3-board limit still allowed Free users to keep working: older boards were locked into view-only mode, so we kept access to our past work while being able to create new boards. That balance is gone, and it makes the Free plan far less usable for many of us.
- Freelancers, students, and independent creators often rely on the Free plan because a monthly subscription isn't realistic for them.
- Many users, especially in regions with lower purchasing power, can't afford a recurring paid plan, even at the lowest tier.
- The previous approach protected Miro's paid tiers while still letting Free users get real value and keep their work. The new limit just pushes people to look for free alternatives.
Personal context: I'm a freelance animator based in Egypt. I'd much rather stay on Miro, but I can't justify a paid plan right now.
Suggested solutions:
1. Restore the previous behavior: lock older boards as view-only so Free users can keep creating new ones.
2. Alternatively, offer a lighter or regionally priced plan for freelancers and users in lower-income regions.
