At the moment, two factor authentication (2FA) is only possible using an Enterprise Miro account.

For security reasons, I strongly advise that this feature should be available for every account type.

You know that there is a lot of hacking going on, and that many cloud services (GitHub, Paypal, Steam, ...) offer or force 2FA. It is the state of current security art to offer a 2FA functionality to improve security and make our accounts more secure, prevent hacking, phishing and data theft.

I do not believe that this feature should be allowed for enterprise accounts only.

Was it helpful?

I have also voted for this.  2FA is now a requirement on cloud services for Cyber Essentials certification.

I agree, we are also doing CyberEssentials+ so we are going to have to leave Miro because of this rather than double our monthyl subscription, as a small business this is not workable.

Those leaving Miro, what tool are you using instead for digital white boarding that is using 2FA?

@Christian Methfessel Thank you for submitting this Idea and sharing your feedback on 2FA. Our team team understands the importance of security for those who use Miro and continue to innovate on ways to make this accessible for as many people as possible.

@Manouska Miro has achieved a great reputation in the UK higher education community.

Failing to provide 2FA capabilities on the Education License will mean we will stop using Miro on grounds of breaching Cyber Essentials standards.

This is a massive miss for Miro: students who experience Miro at university are your natural future users wherever their future jobs take them ... I strongly request you make the 2FA capability available via the Education license.

Similar problem here. We can’t use Miro the way we would like to, because our insurance will not cover data breaches if the data wasn’t protected by MFA.

It is horrible that now in 2024, with today's cybercrime, we have to hope for a chicken list to give us 2FA. It shows that their company puts the safety of their customers at the lowest level.

It is not the case that only large companies have values that should not be compressed, even a student or the man in the street can have the values destroyed. Imagine a student who is on his way to completing a program, loses or has all his data stolen. Then a whole year (or more) is a waste of both time and money.

Show that you are a serious company that takes ALL customers seriously, get 2FA in place on all subscriptions!
