At work, I am now running into a large demand to learn from long and complicated articles and papers frequently. I queried on the Internet and found the SQ3R method a potential solution:
- Survey: Skim the paper and look for the main ideas, headings, keywords, charts, or summaries.
- Question: Turn the headings into questions or generate your questions about the paper’s topic, purpose, or relevance.
- Read: Read the paper carefully and actively, looking for answers to your questions and writing down important points.
- Recite: After each section or paragraph, summarize what you have read in your own words and check if you can answer your questions.
- Review: After finishing the paper, review the main points and concepts and try to recall what you have learned.
Has anyone ever used this template before? Or is anyone interested in implementing an SQ3R template in Miro? A better approach towards grabbing key points of long and complicated articles is also welcome :)
