For some reason, when shapes or any other objects are added to a table, Miro removes the ability to align those shapes. This means that when creating process flows that use tables for swim lanes or any other work that uses tables to organize ideas, they end up looking incredibly messy and disjointed because shapes are misaligned and none of the arrows in process flow diagrams line up neatly. This might seem like a nitpicky issue, but when you’re presenting to clients or trying to use Miro as a serious tool for executive decision making, you work either looks messy and unprofessional or you end up wasting valuable time trying to manually align objects without the help of alignment aids or the align functions. When you want to get your ideas across, removing any and all distractions is crucial to get buy-in from stakeholders, persuade leadership to sign-off, or get your clients excited about a solution - this is one distraction that is totally unnecessary and makes the difference between Miro being a professional tool for all levels of an organization or just a doodling tool for internal team ideation and whiteboarding.
I’m not sure why you’d ever NOT want to have alignment functionality within a table, especially since Miro touts the table as a feature to be used for things like process mapping. Please enable all alignment features when placing shapes and other objects inside of a table. Thanks!
