I’ve been using the Miro Planner app with Azure cards recently, and I’m curious what determines the sort order of items in a column in the Miro Planner? It doesn’t seem to reflect the Azure DevOps backlog order, and it doesn’t seem to update if I reorder items in a DevOps board.
The sort order of items in a column in a planner app typically depends on the specific sorting criteria set within the app or by the user. Common factors that determine the sort order include:
-
Default Sorting: Many planner apps default to sorting by date (e.g., due date, creation date), priority, or status (e.g., completed vs. pending).
-
User-Defined Sorting: Users often have the option to sort items manually by clicking on the column header or using sort settings. This could sort items alphabetically, by date, priority, or any other column attribute.
-
Custom Sort Rules: Some planner apps allow custom rules or filters that affect the order, such as grouping tasks by project or label before sorting by date or priority within those groups.
-
Drag-and-Drop Order: In apps with manual ordering, users can drag and drop items to reorder them. This manual order then overrides automatic sorting until reset.
If you want to know exactly how your specific planner app sorts items, check the settings or help documentation for sorting options, or try clicking on the column headers to see if they toggle the sort order.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this doesn’t really help, though. I’m looking for specific information about how this Miro planner app is configured. I’ve tried out the settings options and checked the support documentation, but I can’t find anything that would help me understand what’s driving the sort order.
Hi ,
Thanks for getting back to me! I understand the situation, and I can see how frustrating it must be to not find the specific details you need. Unfortunately, I’m still not clear on how the Miro planner app is configured to handle the sorting order. I’ve explored all available options in the settings as well as the support documentation, but nothing seems to explain what’s influencing the sort order either. If you’ve come across anything else or have further insights on how to dive deeper into this, I’d really appreciate your help!
Thanks again for your time.
Best regards,
James Wood
Thanks, James. It looks like we’re floundering in the same boat, waiting for one of us to spy land, or for some competent and well-equipped sailors to rescue us!
