Hello! Whenever we click the “copy link to share” or  “share - copy link” buttons from any templates, whether they be from the Miroverse or Miro’s standard templates, the links do not work. A url that looks like it should go directly to the template is generated but whenever anyone clicks on it, it just takes you to your dashboard or sign in page. It seems like this is a bug. Does anyone know what the issue is?

Hi @JRB — welcome to the community, and thank you for raising this!

Here are a few things to check:

  1. Miroverse templates
If the template is from Miroverse, make sure you're using the public Miroverse link. These links should open directly, even for users who aren't logged in.

  2. In-app templates ("Copy link to share")
The “copy link to share” button inside the template picker may generate a link that redirects users to Miro’s homepage or dashboard if they don’t have access, or if they aren’t signed in. These links are more like internal shortcuts and aren’t always meant to be shared externally.

  3. Team permissions or access level
If you're trying to share a custom template saved in your team library, the recipient must:

    • Be a member of your Miro team, and

    • Have permission to view or use the template.

If you want others to use your template reliably, try opening it as a board, then use the Share button to invite them or adjust the link settings (e.g., "Anyone with the link can view/copy").

If none of the above applies and you’re still seeing this behavior even with Miroverse links, it may indeed be a bug. If possible, could you share a quick video or screen recording of what you're seeing when you:

  • Copy the template link, and

  • Try to open it (or when someone else does)?

That’ll help us confirm the behavior and escalate it properly to the support team for deeper investigation.
