with a link into a Miro board, the link gets stripped leaving only plain text in Edge. Pasting the same text into other programs preserves the links, so not sure what is going on here

@Rahul4722 I am am to reproduce this, so I will open a support ticket and report back here.

Support team:

  • Windows 11
  • Edge Version 141.0.3537.99 (Official build) (64-bit)

When copying this from a Google:

Test link to test.

Clipboard inspector shows:

<html>
<body>
<!--StartFragment--><meta charset="utf-8"><b style="font-weight:normal;" id="docs-internal-guid-dc041a53-7fff-560e-f82b-1df486770651"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre;white-space:pre-wrap;">Test link to </span><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Test" style="text-decoration:none;"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:#1155cc;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:underline;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;text-decoration-skip-ink:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre;white-space:pre-wrap;">test</span></a><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:#000000;background-color:transparent;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre;white-space:pre-wrap;">.</span></b><!--EndFragment-->
</body>
</html>

Which is the same as in Edge (except for the GUID, of course).

When I paste onto a board in Chrome using Ctrl-V (or right click →Paste) I get a Text object with the hyperlink included, but no hyperlink in Edge. The hyperlink is, however, retained if I paste into a Miro Doc.

Update from Miro support:

Thank you for flagging when pasting hyperlink text to Miro board on Edge, changes it to plain text. I was able to replicate the same behavior so I have reached out to our developer team to investigate it further. I will keep you posted once the team has more insights to share.
