Hi there,

I am creating aboard that will have about 3000 objects and up to 40 people joining in on the board for planning purposes. Will the number of users joining on the board influence the performance of the board at all? Will there be any lag for them? Are boards with fewer objects easier to use (performance wise) with such a large amount of people logging in at the same time and adding objects?

Hi @Kirsten Wakefield

Thanks for your question! The performance of a board can indeed be affected by the number of users and objects on it. Here are some key points to consider:

  1. Number of Users
With up to 40 people joining the board, it's possible that the performance could be impacted, especially if everyone is active at the same time. Users with older or less powerful devices may experience more lag.
  2. Board Size
The number of objects on the board is also a significant factor. Although the maximum limit is 100,000 objects, performance may begin to decline with as few as 1,000 objects. For optimal performance, we recommend keeping the number of objects below 5,000.

To help improve performance during your session:

  1. Device Setup
Encourage users to open the board on a desktop browser, close unnecessary tabs, and use high-performance mode on laptops.

  2. Board Management
Keep the board tidy by deleting unnecessary content, downscaling large images, and converting pen drawings to images.

  3. User Access
If some users don’t need editing access, consider inviting them as viewers.

If performance remains a concern, consider splitting the board into smaller sections across multiple boards.

Let me know if you need more tips!

Thanks so much!
