Question

Why do most tools default back to the Select tool after ONE use? What is happening?

“All tools (except pen, eraser, lasso, and comments) are one-time. This means that once you use the tool, it will be switched back to Select”

I am actually confused by this behaviour. I’m busy with connector lines, why do I need to reselect the tool I just chose? Is this a new setting? I am so sure it didn’t used to be like this? (I have not used Miro for a few months.)

If I choose a tool, any tool, I just want to keep using it until I CHOOSE to toggle to something else? That’s how every other tool works…?

Can I go change it somewhere so it stops defaulting to the Select tool?

Hi @Canny Canary, Thanks for raising this—I can see how that behavior might be unexpected. I’ll check in with the team to confirm whether this is the intended design or if any recent changes might have affected tool behavior. I’ll follow up here once I have more information.

This has been the behaviour since I started using Miro nearly eight years ago. I suspect the choice to have some tools remain active after first use was based on quantitative data.
