Hi Community & Mironeers,

I’m on the Free plan and urgently need help recovering my board to two specific versions:

• January 7, 15:00 CET

• January 9, 11:00 CET

What happened: While preparing for a second workshop, I copied a widget/template and edited it, not realizing the copy was linked to the original. The edits propagated and overwrote the original workshop records; now both sections show the same (new) inputs. I didn’t realize this until I finished up the second workshop. I tried to backtrack using history/undo, but the state is now inconsistent and I can’t restore any of the original content.

Why this matters: The lost data is important workshop outputs of a brainstorming. I didn’t know that copying and modifying the template would also modify the original, and this was an honest mistake. I’m in tears at the moment.

Request: Could a Mironeer please escalate this to Miro Support for a one-time recovery or snapshot export of the board at:

• Jan 7, 15:00 CET (first workshop’s correct version)

• Jan 9, 11:00 CET (second workshop’s correct version)

I’d be extremely grateful if this could be done without requiring an €80 upgrade just to fix a single mistake.

Board link:

If full restore isn’t possible on my plan, any partial recovery ((e.g., excel export on content, snapshot pictures of content)

Thank you so much for any assistance or escalation!

Anna

@anna.fehervari

You don't have to upgrade the entire team.

According to the previous versions help center article, boards that were once in a free plan can be restored once you have upgraded - more on this here:

https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/recover-lost-content-27175?postid=92246#post92246

You could likely resolve this yourself for $10 by:

1. Removing all team members except for yourself.

2. Upgrade to the Starter Plan for one month.

3. Restore a previous version of the board.

4. Cancel your subscription.

5. Add other members back to the team.

And if you can't downgrade before before you need to collaborate with others, use the visitors feature to allow editing for anyone with the link.

Just sharing this in case time is of the essence.

@Robert Johnson - Thanks for the tip - unfortunately it seems for some reason I can’t delete team members - I’m following the steps shared, but it says something went wrong and to reload the page… I’ve trying to do this in the past few hours and it still doesn’t work :/ Any tips?

@anna.fehervari Miro is not making this easy for you! It looks like a bug that was reported at the end of November 2025 is back/still affecting people — more on this in this post:

https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/resolved-team-admin-can-t-delete-members-26843

Unfortunately, I think you’ll need to wait for Miro support to get back to you. I would reply to the support ticket email you received, include a link to this post (not the one I just linked to above), and let them know that you were going to try to correct this yourself by upgrading to one licence for a month but can’t due to not being able to delete team members.

@Robert Johnson Thanks Robert! I’ve already replied but will attach this discussion as well - appreciate your help! Hopefully they’ll get back soon to me as it is really urgent from my side :/
