I am using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to store Miro docs. If I try to upload the docs directly from Teams or SharePoint (.xlsx for example) it says “Sorry, this file type is not supported. If I try to upload via URL using the SharePoint link, it says “The URL you are trying to submit is invalid.” I have to sync the SharePoint to my computer then upload from the file explorer to get the document in Miro.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hey @Jarrod Davis

Thanks for the question and for recording the video :relaxed:
I’m afraid we do not support the fuctionality to drag and drop files from Teams and Sharepoint directly. We also don’t have a direct integration with Sharepoint that’s why you can only download the file there and upload it to the board.
Did you consider the Google Drive integration? It works great with Miro. You can even edit documents on the board, without actually switching the tabs.

My Organization uses OneDrive, Teams, and Sharepoint.  While I couldn’t drag and drop, or upload via URL (which is weird since it is a cloud file).  The final solution to my problem was to sync my sharepoint with my OneDrive so I can access it through File Explorer.  Then I was able to upload and select the file and it uploaded and kept the link to the original document.

Yes, this is the only way it works - Upload button on the toolbar > OneDrive.

When it comes to an error message when you upload via URL using the Sharepoint link, I have forwarded the case to the Support Team. They will reach out to you soon!

It does not really work straight forward as described (for me). But a work around it first to open the file from directly sharepoint (and not from a sync’ed drive on your PC).
Then the file will appear in your “recent files” in your OneDrive, and from there you can pick it for import into Miro.

Cumbersome - but at least it works.

Our school was using Google Drive and the direct upload to miro was seamless and did not need to access any individual computer or account. Now that we have MS teams, am i to understand that this will no longer be possible? For each folder I now need to route this link through my individual one drive shortcut?  We have many students that have work stored on the TEAM drive and we also have embedded miro boards on the TEAM drive. Everything is right there, but we cannot simply link one to the other directly? otherwise we have very slow miro boards as each student is linking independently. This is making things difficult and we are losing user interest...is there any fix to this...if not in the future?

thanks
