Hi! While working on the board my virtual keyboard appears and disappears in a random way. How can I fix it?

Hi @Ameliya

The virtual keyboard popping up randomly can happen on mobile or touchscreen devices, and it’s usually caused by how the system detects text-input fields. You can try the following:

1. Restart the app or browser

Sometimes the keyboard bug is temporary.

  • Close Miro completely

  • Reopen the app or refresh the browser

2. Update the Miro app (if you’re using the mobile or tablet app)

Keyboard issues are often fixed in new versions.

3. Check if you’re using a stylus or keyboard accessory

On some tablets, switching between stylus and touch triggers the keyboard.
Try:

  • Disconnecting external keyboard

  • Turning off handwriting-to-text

  • Reconnecting the stylus

4. Switch to another browser (if you’re using the web version)

Chrome, Safari, and Firefox sometimes behave differently with touch events.

5. Clear browser/app cache

Corrupted cache can cause focus issues that trigger the keyboard:

  • On mobile → Settings → Apps → Miro → Clear cache

  • On browser → Clear cache for the site

6. Disable any auto-fill or predictive text extensions

Some browser extensions or system features mis-detect input fields.

7. Try using “View Only” mode temporarily

If you only need to navigate and not type, this prevents text fields from being activated.

If the issue continues, it would help to know:

  • Your device model

  • Operating system

  • Whether you’re using the app or browser

  • Steps that typically cause the keyboard to appear/disappear

This will make it much easier to pinpoint the cause!
