Twitter/X.com Integration

I can never drop a Twitter link and get a correct embed like I can with any other website, especially the big, prominent ones. Any idea why proper embedding was never implemented for Twitter, and perhaps any ideas on how to work around it?

Hi @viz, thanks for reaching out! I tested this on my end to better understand the behavior you're describing.

When I paste an X (Twitter) link into a Miro board, it is displayed as a text hyperlink rather than a preview/embed. In comparison, pasting a YouTube link displays a video preview

If you're looking for X links to display a preview or embedded post automatically when pasted into Miro, I haven't found a way to achieve this so far, even when using the Embed tool. I'll check internally with the team to see if there's a workaround.

In the meantime, you may also submit a Wish List post to let the team know about this feature request.

UPDATE

Here’s a workaround provided by one of our team members internally:

  1. Take a screenshot of the X post.
  2. Add the screenshot to your Miro board.
  3. Click the image’s three-dot menu, select Link to, and paste the X post URL.

This adds a link in the upper-right corner of the image, allowing users to click through to the live post.

It’s not quite the same as a native embed, but it should let you keep the post visible on the board while still providing access to the original X post.

@Eca , thank you for the reply and for the workaround! I’ve been using this workaround from the very beginning, but thought we need a consistent and fast experience for Twitter/X.

I’ll post the idea in Wish List.

Thank you!
