Over the past week or so my writing in Miro disappears as I write on the board. It improves if I hold donw the mouse for a few seconds as I finish the word but this is still far from ideal.
Any hacks to stop this, please?

Yes, there was something whacky happening, you can read about it here:
Somehow it was marked as resolved. In my case, however, it persisted quite a while on my iPad - but finally also my iPad is working properly again.
I am not sure WHERE the bug is actually sitting - but if it is in the JavaScript engine inside of your browser, you might want to do a hard-reset (e.g. CMD-R for Mac Chrome) or clear the cache and reload your board from scratch.
That’s the problem with apps like Miro - part of the app is on their side in a datacenter somewhere, but part of the app is in your web-browser.
