Hi! My “team” is the entire company. We have several spaces within the team, and I have set the permissions so that only certain people have access to certain spaces. That being said, when creating a new board within a space, I want only people in that space to view it by default. Is this possible? If not, can the permission to edit be selected by space? Thanks!

@Emily Pessina This is possible. From my testing, boards dynamically inherit the permissions of the Space. If you have a board where the “team” access is set to “No access”, but then you update the Space’s team access to “Can view”, then everyone on the team will be able to see the boards.

Configure your Space as follows:

Then, create a new board in the Space. Next, open the board’s Share settings to see if the team access is set to anything other than “No access”. If it is, your team’s Share settings are likely set so that everyone on the team can access newly created boards – there is a similar setting for Spaces.

You may want to change your Board and Spaces default settings so that only the person who created the asset can access it – this is a default or implicit deny security practice.

Thank you so much for your response! Does this need to be done by an admin? I appreciate your help!

@Emily Pessina You're welcome!

An admin will need to adjust the team settings, but members can adjust their board and space settings.
