Can anyone help me get past this? I just want to access the board and am not interested in joining their boards. I cannot figure out how to move past this. Even when I ask to join it will not let me proceed. Thanks for your help.

Looking at that screenshot, there are 24K+ members, so surely it is a Free Plan team. If my assumption is correct at the board is an a Free Plan team, you will need to be a member to access the board. When you request to join, an admin of that team will need to approve your request.
