Hello,

Long time user, first time community poster here. I do apologise if this has already been raised, but I couldn’t find anything about it when I searched.

I have a board with several synced copies of other boards within it. These have been added by using the ‘copy and sync’ feature on the source boards, then pasting into the destination board.

This works fine. I can move the synced boards, resize them and stuff.

But I noticed some strange behaviour when I went to add sticky notes as annotations over the top of the synced boards:

  • If I copy and paste a sticky I’ve added on top of a synced board, the copy momentarily appears, then disappears
  • If I try to move an overlaid sticky note, it snaps back to its original position
  • Sometimes the sticky notes go to the back of the stacking order i.e. they are obscured by the synced copy board. I can send the board to the back but it may at some point push its way to the front again

Forgive me if these are known issues but I couldn’t seem to find them when searching. Does anyone else have these problems? Are there workarounds?

Hi @Mark Bennett, welcome to the Miro Community and thanks for the detailed breakdown — no need to apologize at all!

The behavior you're describing with sticky notes interacting oddly on top of synced board copies is definitely worth investigating. I haven’t been able to reproduce the exact issue yet on my side, so to help us better understand:

  • Would you be open to sharing a short screen recording showing what happens when you copy, move, or stack the sticky notes on top of a synced board? You can blur or omit sensitive content if needed — the focus is just on replicating the steps you're seeing.

This will help us determine if it’s a bug, expected behavior, or something board-specific. Looking forward to your reply!
