Question

Shared Miro invitation link redirects to my own dashboard instead of the shared board

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble accessing a Miro board through an invitation link shared in a Discord server.

The link was originally shared on September 27, 2026. When I click it, I'm redirected to the Miro login page. However, after logging in, I end up on my own Miro dashboard instead of the shared board or team.

The Discord message still displays a preview of the Miro board, including its title, so the link appears to have been valid when it was originally shared.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Opening the link in Safari on my iPhone

  • Using private browsing mode

  • Logging out of Miro and then opening the invitation link before logging back in

  • Opening the link on my Windows PC

Unfortunately, none of these methods worked. I always end up on my own dashboard, and the shared board doesn't appear.

Additional information:

  • I'm using a free Miro account.

  • The link was shared in a Twitch subscriber-only Discord channel.

  • The link starts with miro.com/welcomeonboard/.

  • As far as I know, the board owner hasn't changed any sharing settings or revoked the invitation link.

My questions are:

  1. Can Miro team invitation links expire automatically?

  2. Why would an invitation link redirect me to my own dashboard instead of the shared board?

  3. Is there any way to fix this without asking the board owner to generate a new link?

I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @sirasu, thanks for reaching out and for providing all these details.

The invitation link you’re trying to access may no longer be valid. Team invitation links can stop working if the Team Admin disables the invite link, and invitations sent to unregistered users can expire after 30 days for security purposes. In this case, being redirected to your dashboard instead of the invited team/board can happen when the invitation is no longer valid.

You can find more information here: Sharing boards and inviting collaborators

If the link was shared by the board owner, I’d recommend asking them to confirm that the invitation is still active or send you a new invitation link.

@sirasu Have you confirmed that, even though your dashboard is being displayed, that your Miro account profile has not been give the access to the board or team? Note: the link could be to join a team as a member (usually a free plan in these scenarios) or as a guest on a board in a paid subscription.

Check your org/team switcher here:
