Shared a Public Board link with non-registered users but they have to login and create an account

Hello, 

We are on a Starter plan and want to share a board via the Public Link and a password (with editing rights), to non-registered MIRO users. From what I have read they should be able to select the public link, and the MIRO board appears at which point they need to enter the MIRO board password - no login required.

However, this happens for 2 seconds and then they are asked to login/create an account:

Why is this happening?
This only recently seems to be an issue. We have public sharing enabled and aren’t on an Enterprise plan so I’m confused as to why this is happening. We are definitely using the right link for the board and not the team invite one. 

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Hi ​@Rachael Cole thanks for providing the details! Since the settings are set properly but the issue still persists, I’d convert this case to a support ticket so the team can investigate on the backend. You should receive a response shortly.

Hi ​@Rachael Cole thanks for reaching out! If the sharing settings of the board is already set to public > can edit (with password), it should look like this.
 

it is also possible that the settings of the team where the board is stored has some restrictions. You can have the Admins check this in the team settings > security > permissions. 

 

If everything is set properly, please let me know.

Hi ​@Eca thanks for responding to my post quickly!

So the sharing settings for the board are set up right:

The settings are also set to allow the following:
 

“Board owners can allow everyone with the link to view and comment without signing in to Miro. Learn about public sharing”

  • Allow editing on publicly shared boards [enabled]
    • Board owners can allow anyone with the link to edit. This will not affect the cost of your subscription.
