Hi, is anyone else having some issues with board when selecting new items or features the scale seems to either go super small or super large relative to the remaining items on a frame?  Is there any best practices for the scale or items to be relative to the frame consistently?

 

For example, I have a set of Sticky notes that are all about the same scale, then I want to add a mind map near the sticky notes, but when I add the mindmap the scale of the parent node is super tiny relative to the sticky notes that I made on a frame.  Why is this and how do I make sure that the scale of the mind map doesn’t go way out of whack?

Thanks for raising this question! The issue you’re experiencing with inconsistent scaling when adding objects relative to a frame can happen in certain scenarios, and it can be a bit tricky to manage. 

 

The scale of newly added items can vary depending on the zoom level of the board and the relative size of the frame you're working in. Adding objects outside of the active frame or at  a different zoom level can make them appear disproportionate to nearby content.

 

 

As a workaround,

  • Before adding new items, ensure your board is zoomed to a consistent level (e.g., 100%) so that objects are created at a predictable size.
  • Use the frame’s gridlines or rulers to maintain proportions.
  • Once you’ve added an item (like a mind map), resize it to match the surrounding objects by dragging its corners or using the toolbar to scale proportionally.
  • Align new items to the sticky notes or existing elements by selecting them and using the alignment and distribution tools in the toolbar.
  • Consider grouping sticky notes and mind maps into a single cluster to maintain a cohesive look when resizing or moving elements.

Please note that mind maps can appear small initially because the parent node's size is relative to the content inside. After adding the mind map, adjust the size of the parent node manually by dragging its edges to better align it with the sticky notes.
