Restore older desktop app version

I just updated Miro through a prompt on the desktop app and it stopped working because “You have macOS 11.7.10. The application requires macOS 12.0 or later.”  The update was through a prompt in the app, which I could have avoided if I was informed of the potential risk or it could not have simply happened if I downloaded fresh installation file from website, so it is quite a disappointment to find out about this issue now.

Is there a way to re-install an older version of Miro desktop for mac?

Thanks.

Hi @Alex_zl, thanks for reaching out!

Miro does not support installing or reverting to older desktop app versions. The latest builds are designed to work only with macOS 12.0 or later, which ensures compatibility and security.

For now, you can continue using Miro through your web browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari) — the web version offers the same core functionality as the desktop app.

If you’d like, I can have this thread converted into a support ticket so the team can confirm whether there’s any workaround for your specific setup.

Thank you so much for your response Eca. The web broswer, of course, is a slightly less efficient solution, it would be great to get the desktop version back. Yes, please, I would appreciate if there was a way to reach out to the tech support, thank you so much.

Hi @Alex_zl

Probably Miro will send their special “black ops” team after me for telling you this, but there is a site where you can find older versions of many different software packages, not just Miro:

https://miro-miro.en.uptodown.com/mac/versions

My guess - just a guess - is that you might be confronted with a message to update every time you start the app. Also, no guarantee they have ALL the versions.

Cheers, Ken
