Note:

  • I have a support ticket open for this and am just posting in case anyone is experiencing the issue and wants to subscribe to this post to receives updates as I hear back from the support team.

Every time a board is launched, the select tool should be active:

 

Sometime around May 24, 2025, I noticed that when I open any board from a new browser sessions, the select tool is active, but once I go back to the Miro dashboard and open any other board, the select tool is not active, i.e., I am in pan mode. This happens in all subsequent board openings in the same browser session. If I close the browser, open it again, and go back to a board, the select tool is active and the whole process repeats.

This is happening in Windows 11 in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox; even in incognito/no browser extensions enabled. And on multiple machine, and all of my Miro accounts. And to some other Windows users whom I spoke with.

Latest update: Engineering team is investigating and believe it should be related to navigation (mouse vs. trackpad) detection in Windows.


This issue was resolved.
