[RESOLVED] Pen lines disappear after being drawn

I do a lot of handwritten math calculations in Miro (via Wacom tablet). Suddenly (this has never happened), about one-half of my pen strokes disappear after lifting my pen up. I’ve tried drawing in both Zoom and ConceptBoard, and this problem doesn’t happen there.

Here’s a video of what happens:

Note they responded to my ticket and said it is resolved. Mine is now working properly again. So appears to be all good now. @Robert Johnson

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a very specific and frustrating issue. When I draw or write quickly on a Miro board using my MacBook trackpad, about 50% of my strokes disappear. Usually, one short line renders correctly, but the next one vanishes immediately after I lift my finger. I have been using Miro for 2 years without any issues. This problem appeared for the first time since today.
Could anyone help me?

Man, I have the same problem. Now I understand that it’s the Miro problem. Oh, I thought that this is my internet provider problem and have tried to fix it for 4 hours…

Howdy Folks - FWIW I just tried this - never tried it before - I did observe disappearing lines, but I’d say at a rate of about 10% - in other words, 90% of the time it worked, but around 10% of the time my lines disappeared.  I played around with a bit but I could not find any way to reproduce the behavior - it just seems to sort of happen on its own (as far as I can tell).  BTW: trackpad on a MacBook

I  submitted this ticket earlier to support -  its a serious issue. !…...”During a live teaching session last night, I encountered a serious technical issue on two different macOS machines: handwriting strokes failed to register most of the time when using a Huion pen, and a significant portion of the time when using a mouse. Strokes would often disappear unless I pressed unusually hard or moved very slowly, which substantially disrupted the session. The issue occurred in both Chrome and the downloaded Miro desktop app. Only after the session did I discover that using Miro in Safari resolved the problem.”

Тоже такая проблема, жду советы или может быть это временный лаг?

When I write on the board it disappears, I have to rewrite and insist 3-4-5 times until what i write stay in place, it’s very annoying and strange. Please can someone in the maintenance team fix it ? Thank you

If you're seeing disappearing pen marks or UI lag, try this Chrome fix:

  1. Go to chrome://settings/system

  2. Toggle "Use graphics acceleration when available" (try the opposite of its current state).

  3. Click Relaunch.

I have the same problem. I tried clearing the cache and all that, even reinstalled the app. Nothing helped. To write anything, you have to hold the mouse or trackpad at the cursor's final position, which is extremely inconvenient. The problem occurs both in the browser and in the app on Mac OS. I also tried switching from the Magic Mouse to a different one, but that didn't help either)

I’ve been having this issue for the last week. I use pen in my classes to write and draw images. 98% of the time, the line vanishes immediately. To make it stay, i might have to hold the line, or reverse over it back and forth, which is rediculously impractical. I’ve had to stop using Miro in class because, well, if i can’t write, what’s the point? This has to be something on their end. I’ve been using the same board for five years now, and have never had an issue like this.

Using Miro on macbook air through Google Chrome (and tried on Safari with same resuilt).

Hey, everyone. I merged several post about the same issue into this one.

I am unable to reproduce this myself — Windows 11, Chrome/Edge/Miro desktop app (i.e., Chromium), or Firefox.

Has anyone opened a support ticket with Miro?

Opening a support ticket

If you are using a paid Miro subscription, you can open a Miro support ticket by following these instructions:

Hi @Robert Johnson I just submitted a ticket - pretty much everyone on my team is experiencing the same issue… One of them had success on safari instead of chrome… which also just worked for me - but I prefer google chrome. So hopefully this can fixed as me and by business are pretty reliant on this tool in our daily work - we have over 15 paid accounts.

This is happening to my students and has really thrown a spanner in the works for my online tuition. I use a PC and do not have the problem so it seems like it is a Mac + Miro issue.

I soved it !

It’s a gestures update issue on your macbook (probably ipad too)

Go to Settings-Trackpad-More Gestures

Turn Off: Mission Control, App Expose, Shoe Desktoip, NOtification Center

(amybe it’s only MIssion Control but i removed them all)

Miro works normal again

Apple i guess changes it mouse configurations so they work perfectly with Scribble and their own software, but it’s not recognising strokes in 3rd party. It’s back to normal, guys

I take that back. It worked for 70% of strokes. But, the error is still present.

Sorry for the false hope

For teachers, i suggest using Excalidraw. I am using now. Don’t try Freeform on your macbook. There is no draw/pen function. Not sure who is in charge of their creative development, but it feels like their background is accounting.

the bug seems linked directly to mac only

Hello! I'm a MacBook user using the Miro app, not the web version. I'm having the same problem, any quick pen stroke gets deleted immediately. I hope this can be solved soon.

Is anyone having issues with the Apple Pencil on iPad in Miro? The stylus works in other apps, but in Miro, the lines I draw disappear.

@Elena_pm I merged your post with this one. There does appear to be an issue. Someone has reported it to the support team.

However, if you are using a paid Miro subscription, you could open your own support ticket by following these instructions:

I also am having the exact problem, though it occurs 100% of the time.

This is on an iPad using an Apple pen.

I’m also experiencing this issue. I’m on a Mac desktop. My collaborators today were also experiencing the same issue. One was also on a Mac, the other on the Miro app on an iPad. Hope it can be fixed soon

I’m using a magic mouse, not a trackpad. I turned off the gestures for the magic mouse in the settings, but it didn’t fix the issue for me. :(
