[RESOLVED] Links opening in Tabs inside the Miro App
Since recently Miro opens external Links (e.g. links to other websites in miro comments) inside the tab of the miro board itself. the tab name then changes to the title of the website and there is no way to get back to the miroboard.
how can I turn this off?
it’s very annoying cause when you have just a shared link then you have close the tab and find the link again. my current workaround is to star the miroboard, close to the tab when it happens and then open it again from the starred boards.
I just tested a few ways of opening a link from a Miro board and links in comments are still opening in both my browser and the Miro desktop app, i.e., in the same from the board where the link was clicked, which results in having to close the tab and re-open the board.
This is buggy.
Question: Where are your links clicked from, e.g., Text box, Shape, text in a sticky note, etc.?
I will go ahead and open my own Miro support ticket and report back here with what they tell me.
We received a support ticket from Robert (thank you). Hopefully, the team can resolve the issue soon!
We will keep you updated! :)
Hey @Robert Johnson, I have this bug when opening links inside comments.
Thanks for making this a support ticket!
I have the same issue today. - the linked page opens full screen in the Miro desktop application, with no way to go back. The title of the web page takes the place of my board title. I closed the tab and reopened my board - it is still on the web page for a moment then the board is back. Then This didn’t happen before today and I would like to know how to stop the behaviour.
Hey @Daniela Krammer, @Robert Johnson and @Noelle Campbell-Smith,
Alyona from the Miro Support team is here for a moment.
Just want to let you know that I discussed this issue with the Development team, and they confirmed that this is a bug and that they are already working on a fix for it.
We'll be sure to let you know as soon as we have any updates on the issue!
I've been silently following the other thread, however, the reply you received in the ticket from a fellow CSR is exactly the same we ourselves received from the developers.
We passed both yours and Brandon's feedback and were told that the team will consider improving the way links to the widgets added to comments behave in the future, but no ETA at this point.
Hey @Daniela Krammer, @Robert Johnson, and @Noelle Campbell-Smith,
I come bearing good news: the bug fix was just released with the new (0.7.10) version of the desktop app! Please give it a try and let me know how it works for you.
