I’m suddenly having numerous keyboard issues with Miro. Experiencing it in the desktop and the browser. Many issues including

  • I am typing in Miro and suddenly lose focus in the text box and get bounced out.
  • I multi-click to select all and the text disappears
  • When editing text with keyboard, it will suddenly delete what I’ve writen up to that point yet keep on entering text as I type

My software is up-to-date. I have restarted my computer. None of our other designers are experiencing this but it’s killing my productivity. Very frustrating. Am I alone in this?

@John Beck - You are not alone! I started experiencing this earlier this week and at first I thought perhaps my hands were touching my trackpad, so I disabled it altogether, but the issue persists.

I have machines:

  1. Windows 10 64-bit
  2. Windows 11 64-bit

I first noticed the issue while using the Miro desktop app (version 0.7.18) on my Win 11 machine. I haven’t noticed it yet on my Windows 10, but did notice the Miro desktop app updated to 0.7.20 on that machine, but is still 0.7.18 on my Windows 11, even if I re-install.

Have you created a support ticket with Miro?

I have the same issue. It is driving me crazy.
It slows me down massively and it’s demotivating.

I knew Miro before but a friend suggested to try and make my presentations in it.
I still have a free plan, so I cannot raise tickets.
Kinda stupid, because if this problem cannot be raised and thus fixed, I won’t be upgrading towards a paid plan.

I have opened a ticket with the support team and will report back with what they tell me.

My message to support:

Hi Support Team,

I am experiencing the same issue as described in this post:

https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/keyboard-issues-10165

My setup:

  • OS: Windows 11 64-bit (recently updated to version 22H2 ← this may be culprit!).

  • Miro client: Happens in both 0.7.18 and 0.7.20 of the 64-bit desktop app.

As you can see in these GIFs, when I am in edit mode in various objects (happens in Sticky Notes and Cards for sure), my cursor suddenly disappears/something else takes the focus -- what I am showing here is that when I create a sticky note  and the cursor is flashing in the note, it suddenly disappears (I am not touching my keyboard or mouse):

And if this event occurs while I am typing, all of the text disappears:

I will update the community forum post as you reply to this ticket.

Thanks,

Rob

@John Beck / @Jurgen Goesaert - The support team had me check the developers console in Chrome, so I could send them logs. As the issue happened (the cursor disappeared), there was this error:

client.ts:22 WebSocket connection to 'wss://miro.drawify.net:5000/' failed:
(anonymous) @ client:188

This is related to the new Drawify app → https://miro.drawify.net/

The app:

I uninstalled the app and ham no longer experiencing the issue.

Do you have this app installed? More on Marketplace apps and how to uninstall → https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017731093-Marketplace#h_01EMKDM8NWQX63B15FCG7DNDKQ
