I am not able to resize any of my shapes. I can select it, and I see the double arrow to make it larger but when I go to make it bigger or smaller nothing happens. This is a new issue, as I used to be able to. Nothing is locked, I have signed out and back in, cleared cache and nothing is helping. Any ideas?

Hi @hclima,

Thank you for reaching out! It sounds frustrating not being able to resize your shapes, especially since this was previously working for you. Since you’ve already tried signing out, clearing the cache, and ensuring that nothing is locked, here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you might consider:

  1. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version if you’re using the desktop version.
  2. If you’re using a web browser, try a different one to see if the issue persists.
  3. Sometimes browser extensions can interfere with functionality. Try disabling them temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
  4. If possible, check if the resizing works on another device to help isolate the problem.

If none of these steps help, please reach out to our support team with details about your setup, and they’ll be happy to assist further.

Ok I tried all of those and it still didn’t work so I will reach out to support.

Hi, I’ve also encountered this issue specifically with the ERD shapes arising the last 24 hours. It feels like a bug in Miro 🤔

Hello, I’ve also encountered same issue. Tested in different browser using Google Chrome and Opera with all plugins disabled.

There is definitely something unexpected going on with ERD shapes. I cannot resize any of them. When I opened a board created around six month ago and copied those ERD shapes to a new board, then suddenly became REALLY, REALLY wide and unreadable.

I have opened a support ticket and will update this post as I hear back from the support team.

Update from the Support team:

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue with ERD shapes. I can confirm that a bug on our end causes this behavior – we sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience it causes and assure you that we're working towards a resolution!

We'll continue to follow up with any updates as soon as possible. Please, bear with us!

Hello!

Any updates on this topic?

I received this update overnight:

The DEV team in charge has just informed me that work on the fix for the “Unable to resize the ERD shapes” bug has begun, and I expect a release to be announced in a few days. I will keep you informed.

Got it, thank you for the fast response!

Can confirm this is still happening to me as well.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience as our team works on this issue. As per the latest status report, we are still waiting for a fix to be released in line with Robert’s update 2 days ago. We will share any new information as soon as it becomes available.

If you continue to experience issues or have any further questions, feel free to let us know!

I can confirm this issues i now fixed.  Thank you @Eca, Maxim and Klaus.

Update from the Miro support team:

Our colleagues from the development department announced today that the bug regarding the “resize of ERD shapes” you reported has now definitely been fixed.
Would you be able to test whether the error has been flawlessly eliminated for you and you can work in Miro without errors as usual?

When you run the test, please make sure that you log out of the Miro environment completely, preferably refresh the browser and log in again. This will ensure that you are working with the latest client version. The bug has been fixed in client version release 1.71207.0

==>> You can check the Miro client version while you have opened any Miro board with the Developer Tools and the command rtb.version
The DEV tools can be found in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser (by the three vertical dots) and then under "More Tools/Developer Tools".

In Firefox, you can find the Developer Tool by clicking on the three vertical lines in the top right corner, then under "More Tools" and then the submenu "Web Developer Tools".
Then navigate to the menu item "Console" within the Developer Tool.

Click on the symbol which is outlined here with the red rectangle to clear the log window, then enter "rtb.version".

@Robert Johnson, Yes it is totally fixed, thank you.

@Jeff Stetson - Are you able to resize ERDs diagonally? Or recall if that is even a thing?

Because I cannot. The only way to make them “larger” appears to be to increase the font size.

@Robert Johnson I only just make them wider or narrower, which works and they get longer with the addition of more fields, I’m not sure if the diagonal ever made the whole shape itself bigger.

@Jeff Stetson - Thanks for confirming. I’ll mark this post as resolved and let the support team know that we can now at least resize by width and font size.
