Recreate an entire flowchart from a book/picture?

Hello,

Does anyone know if the AI tool or any other feature can recreate an existing flow chart in jpeg/png format? The idea is to import a flow chart found on the web into Miro without doing it manually to then be able to edit it.

Thank you in advance.

Andy

Hi @Andy Davies  Nice question - why don’t you give it a try with ChatGPT? You can upload a flowchart to ChatGPT, then request it create an “draw.io” file - and you should be able to import this into Miro.

As a quick experiment, I uploaded this to ChatGPT

It then created a draw.io file which I imported into Miro:

Not exact exact - but could save you a lot of time.

Cheers, Ken

Hi @Andy Davies  — great question, and thank you @Kenneth Ritley for the creative workaround! 🙌

At the moment, Miro’s AI tools don’t yet support extracting flowcharts directly from image files (like JPEG or PNG) into editable components. But like Kenneth mentioned, using external tools like ChatGPT or online diagram converters (e.g., draw.io) can definitely help bridge that gap.

If this kind of smart import is something you’d love to see natively in Miro, I encourage you to post in the Wish List so others can upvote!

Let us know how your experiment goes — I’d love to hear what worked best for you
