I understand there were some recent changes to the colour palate and my question is, is there a way to restore ‘recently used colours’ or at least the colours already being used in a given board into the quick access area of the colour panel, or are we forever stuck with ‘Brand colors’ which we dont even use?

The previous default color palette and “recently used colors” section can’t be restored, and we understand this might disrupt your workflow—especially if your team doesn’t use brand colors. Rest assured, this update does not affect your existing content, and if you’ve noticed any unexpected changes, we’re actively applying a fix for that.
If you’d like to continue using the old colors, you can still select them manually and add them to your custom palette. For reference, we’ve provided the old color hex codes in this help article:
