Problems sharing a board - redirection issues?

Hi there,

I’m trying to share a board with guests. I have already created a board-link and want the guests only to view my board. I know how to do that, but my problem is the following:

As soon as the guests try to use my link, the background of the board is being loaded and then the guests are immediately asked to sign in instead of seeing the board. If they use the “back” button in the browser afterwards, the board is loaded correctly. Somehow that doesn’t work for all guests. 

So, I think my link is correct, as it is possible to finally access the board, but there seems to be some kind of redirection issue…

Can anyone help?

I've seen similar issues before. A few things you can check:

  • Verify that everyone you're sharing with has the correct permissions to access the board.

  • Try opening the shared link in an incognito/private browser window to rule out cached login sessions.

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies, or test in a different browser.

  • Make sure the board URL is correct and hasn't expired or been modified.

  • If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), confirm that the user is signing in with the correct account.

If the problem persists, sharing the platform you're using, the exact redirection behavior, and any error messages will help narrow down the cause.

Hello there.

Thanks for helping out. I'm the only one in our company (school) using Miro. I created a timeline for a bigger project and constantly update the timeline. Thus I wanted my fellow teachers to be able to see what we are working at. That's why I created the public link (read only) and added it in TaskCards. As there are only teachers at school that have access to the TaskCards I didn't set any rules for the link.

It has been working without any problems for some time up to now. 

So there are no SSO issues and no problems with permissions. I have also tried to open the link in a private browser window which didn't work either. I have updated the link and posting a new one at TaskCards. Didn't work.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is to clear the cache. But would that mean, that every guest user has to do that before opening the board?

Just checking in, are you still experiencing this issue?

If so, could you let us know whether it happens with every guest or only some of them? Also, if possible, please share:

  • The board's sharing settings (a screenshot is fine).
  • Whether the guests are opening the link on desktop or mobile.
  • Whether they're seeing a sign-in prompt consistently or only on the first attempt.

This will help narrow down whether it's a sharing configuration issue or something else.
