Permissions for slides "activities" such as polls, surveys, etc

I have had difficulty in participants being able to participate in the slides “activities”. It seems like the only way for people to be able to participate after joining (via QR code or /miro.com/join) is to give everyone “editor” permission. However this can lead to people accidentally moving or rearranging the slides. It would be best to have a special category of permission for participants to be able to participate in the slide activities, but not be able to modify the actual board. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Hi @Robin Atkins

Thanks for raising this! There isn’t a separate permission level that allows interaction with activities while preventing board edits.

Some workarounds teams use:

  1. Duplicate the board for activities

    • Create a copy of the main board specifically for interactive exercises.

    • Participants can have full Editor access there without affecting the main board layout.

  2. Lock main content

    • Lock frames, slides, or key objects to prevent accidental changes.

    • Participants can still interact with unlocked areas like sticky notes or voting widgets.

Hope this helps!
