Hi, everybody!

I have a new laptop with Windows 11. I downloaded the app in Microsoft Store and faced a problem:

the text in PDF files is not readable: letters disappear, they look strange and i almost can make out a word.

My teammates say that everything is fine on their laptops

but mine is a disaster!

what can the problem be connected with?

is it a problem with the app or with my new laptop?

@Natasha English - You issue may be the same as existing Support ticket for a possible PDF related bug.

There was a recent post where some users are experiencing PDF rendering issues - here is the post:

https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/possible-bug-pdf-files-displaying-incomplete-words-with-gaps-10729

It seems to be related to Windows and hardware acceleration. The support ticket is still open (ticket # 500411).

Does this also happen in a browser?

I would suggest that you try downloading the Miro desktop app directly from Miro's website rather than the Microsoft Store: https://miro.com/apps/

There are a few restrictions in the MS Store version: https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017572854-Desktop-app#h_01EVGAXJVY1H7DTTJ5T71XEJ3H

@Robert Johnson thanks a lot for the links!

I tried downloading the app from the website as well as installing an old version (from my old laptop), but the problem remains unsolved(

@Natasha English - Try disabling Hardware acceleration.

I know this can be done in a browser (how-to here), but I think there is the option in the desktop app too. I can't remember exactly where, but from your Dashboard tab, press the Alt key - this will expose the menu bar:

From here, look for Hardware acceleration under all of the options (File, View, Edit, etc.).

@Robert Johnson thank you so much, I found it.
I pressed Alt → help > hardware acceleration

this really helped! Thank you!
