No Guest edit of Data tables? STILL?

I realize this was a topic prior.   HOWEVER, let’s make it clear for folks.

Unless, you are willing to pay for a client’s access to Miro, they can’t edit the data tables and some other features.

That’s right, you have to pay PER client if you want them to collaborate with you using the number one feature of Miro!  Tables!

This is obviously a marketing decision, and nothing more.   Data tables are where we can make forms to organize answer to questions, gather job site information, or anything that might require two people to access a form to work together.   THAT DOES NOT MEAN, they are a team player, employee, or otherwise part of my organization.

I’m a designer, and wanted to switch from Notion and airtable to Miro.   Not once was it mentioned data tables would be locked from Guests!   In fact, it’s implied ‘anyone with link’ can edit the board.   Doesn’t say ‘edit board except data tables.

I guess I’m back to looking for another app.  I LOVE the freedom of Miro as a replacement for Mircosoft White board, but as to a modern cloud service, it’s obviously scammy.   I equate this to Airtable’s decision that you must pay more to change the color of a field background!  LOL.   They know it’s a feature many peeps want, and it’s behind a paywall filled with everything I don’t need or want.

I call this SCAM as there’s no mention of the GIANT limitation when you sign up and pay!

Hi @Steve Matlaga, thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. I understand how frustrating it can be when a feature you need for collaboration isn’t available as expected.

I tried to reproduce the issue you described using a Guest account, but I wasn’t able to reproduce the limitation you’re experiencing.

Could you let me know which specific Data Table feature/action you’re trying to use and the steps you’re taking when you encounter the restriction? If possible, a screenshot or short video would also be really helpful.

This will help me make sure I’m testing the same feature and workflow you’re using, and also see whether there’s a workaround we can suggest.

Hi.  Thanks for posting so fast.

Actually, this limitation is even mentioned when I do searches on google.   It’s a known limitation.
Example:

Just a very clean, standard table.

I’ll post the link here, and add a password after you reply.

FYI:  YOU MUST be logged out completely when you try the link.   Otherwise, you are a paying user, and therefore can access it.

We are talking about random clients I do design work for.  They can’t edit the board.
Some can’t even access it via the link.

at best, you can leave a comment as a guest.

See what you get.  I’ll keep an eye out.

There’s no personal info.. so don’t care about sharing it.

On the other side of this, it looks like Miro wants a guest to have a free account to do anything at all.  So, I’m going to try adding an email address, but I’m guess Miro will make them sign up.  Again, just not what I was expecting.
