We just ran a workshop.
We use Miro.
Several people seem to have developed an aversion to Miro as it has been complex, laggy.

But all gave it a go.

The killer was the plethora of marketing questions that new users got from Miro before being able to access the board for the workshop.
This wasted time in the workshop and was an unnecessary and unhelpful distraction.

Please remove/ minimise these questions.

Hi @TomShxyz1, welcome to the Miro Community — and thank you for taking the time to share this feedback.

We really appreciate that you and your participants gave Miro a go during your workshop, even in the face of some challenges. I’m especially sorry to hear that the pre-access marketing questions disrupted your session — that definitely isn’t the experience we want for facilitators or their guests.

These onboarding questions are meant to help tailor the experience. I’ll be sharing your feedback with the team internally. In the meantime, a possible workaround is to invite participants as anonymous visitors using a board that allows visitor with edit access — this way, participants can join instantly without needing to sign in or answer onboarding questions. Here’s how:

Thanks again for raising this!

I suggest the obvious solution is to have some kind of ‘I’ll do this later’ button.. that puts you straight into the board..

Hi @TomShxyz1  — thanks again for your suggestion!

To clarify, those initial questions are part of Miro’s onboarding process designed to help personalize the dashboard experience for new users. They allow the system to tailor tools and tips based on how each user intends to use Miro — whether for workshops, planning, design, or something else.

That said, if your invited user has already answered these questions and they continue to reappear each time they access a board, that may indicate an issue — and we’d appreciate you reporting it so we can investigate and provide a solution.

If your request is to remove the onboarding questions altogether for first-time users, I’m not sure that’s currently possible, since they’re built into the initial user experience. However, if removing or bypassing them would be particularly valuable for your team, you’re very welcome to submit a Wish List post — our product team reviews user ideas regularly to help shape future improvements.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback!

As far as I know, I have a free account, but every effing time I connect I have to answer the five marketing questions (which I ‘ve now answered about 1000 times).  Do I need to verify my account or something?
