Some members of my team have had an issue with music that plays during the timer not stopping when the timer ends. This occurs when I am sharing miro through teams.  does anyone know how to make this stop?

Hi @Frank Curry, thanks for flagging this, and welcome to the Miro Community.

That definitely sounds unexpected. The timer music should stop automatically once the countdown ends, so if it continues after that, it might be a bug or something affecting how audio is handled through Microsoft Teams.

To help us investigate further, could you share a few more details:

  • Are you and your team using the Miro desktop app, a browser, or the Miro app inside Teams when this happens?

  • Which browser (if applicable) are you using?

  • Does the music stop if someone clicks the timer manually (instead of waiting for it to end)?

  • When it continues playing, does it loop indefinitely or just finish the track once?

  • Can anyone on the team stop it, or only the person who started the timer?

  • Is the board being shared via screen share, or is everyone on the board at the same time?

  • Does this happen every time, or only occasionally? Please share the date and time when the issue occured.

If you're able to share a screen recording or an example board (with dummy content), that could help us reproduce the issue.

Let me know, and we’ll do our best to help you get this sorted out.

  1. I am using Miro as an app within teams when the issue occurs.  Has happened to three separate users in different meetings
  2. N/A
  3. no; music does not stop until the app is no longer shared.
  4. loops indefinitely
  5. no one can stop it; only stops once the miro app is no longer shared
  6. not sure what you mean here; I am sharing miro through the app on teams, and the people on the call are interacting with miro through the share function on teams
  7. this does not happen every time; It has happened three separate times with different users but in the same circumstance - miro is shared through the teams app, I use the timer with music, and once the timer ends the music does not stop and continues to loop.

I will see if I can replicate the issue with one of the affected people.

Hi @Frank Curry, thanks so much for the extra detail!

It sounds like something is going wrong with how the Miro timer music interacts with Microsoft Teams. Since the music only stops when the Miro app is no longer being shared and continues looping with no way to manually stop it, this isn’t expected behavior.

I’ll go ahead and convert this into a support ticket so the Miro team can take a closer look.

In the meantime, here are a few things to try:

  • Test outside of Teams: Try running the same timer with music in a browser or the Miro desktop app. If the music behaves normally there, we can be more confident this is tied specifically to the Teams integration.

  • Ensure all apps are up to date — both Microsoft Teams and the Miro app/plugin inside it.

  • Reproduce & record: If you're able to replicate the issue again, capturing a short screen recording (even audio behavior + how the board is shared) will be really helpful for the support team to investigate further. You can share the recording to the ticket thread.
