Hey,

When I move a board from private user to company organization who gets access?

Do I as creator retain sole access or does the entire organization get access or maybe only the administrators of the organization? Do I lose ownership?

Thanks.

Hi @Christian Weiseth, thanks for reaching out!

Moving a board into a company organization does not automatically make it accessible to the entire organization by default. Access will still depend on the board’s sharing settings and the permissions configured within that organization/team.

In general:

  • You typically remain the board owner/creator unless ownership is explicitly transferred

  • Organization admins may gain visibility or administrative control depending on the company’s security and content management settings

  • Other organization members will not automatically get access unless the board is shared with them, the project/team is open to the org, or company-wide sharing settings allow it

Since Enterprise and organization policies can vary, I’d also recommend checking with your company’s Miro admins, as they may have custom sharing/security rules enabled.
